New Zealand Collaborative Action & Research Network is the New Zealand hub of the international Collaborative Action Research Network CARN and a SIG of the New Zealand Association for Research in Education NZARE.
NZCAandRN was formed in May 2009 at an inaugural symposium at the University of Canterbury, with the CARN sponsorship by the Universities of Canterbury, Waikato, and Otago. In December 2009 NZCA&RN also became a SIG of NZARE.
We chose the metaphor of a braided river to communicate the many forms of collaborative action and research networking in which both action research and kaupapa Māori research are braids.
